I’m Inspired

I’m Inspired

I’m Inspired!

I’m not gonna lie — it’s still rough out there in the world and in my office. I’m finding ways to keep busy doing all the things that get put off when we are not in the middle of a global pandemic and radical change in response to racial justice. These are times when singing together could not only be a balm, but it could move us to be better people and stronger communities. But….we can’t sing together. And that’s tough.

Singing together or listening to live music changes my cellular structure! It brings up emotions and helps me process them. It also empowers me to get out there and change the world. Music leads to Power. It leads to Love. It leads to Hope.

OK — so we can’t sing together or attend live music. But, I am inspired by the creative ways folks are helping us to bridge this gap! From virtual choirs to videos of live performances. It’s not the same but it REALLY does help!

The silver lining here is the choirs that have have shared music with folks who would not have seen it otherwise. Recently, a video of “This Morning’s Paper” was released by the Cleveland Chamber Choir. If you haven’t seen it yet, you should click on the video below. I cry every time I hear it!

Vox Femina Los Angeles’ recording of “She Rises” was featured in a blog by composer/conductor Mitchell Covington’s Virtual Micro Concert Series!

AND – I have a few more super creative projects in the works with vocal ensembles that I can’t wait to share with you! Woot! Woot!

Remember that, throughout the pandemic, my videos of “Sweet Radiant Mystery” and “The Flute of the Infinite” (Love Version and the Space Version) are free to stream for church services. Of course you can just watch them too 🙂 See below!

Until we can be together again, may music touch your soul. Stay Safe <3

Much love to you,

Catherine
